Foreword
WITH THESE HANDS
Hands are as important to a nurse as a mind to store knowledge. Without hands to carry out the dictates of her knowledge, she would be nothing.
Her hands are used to feed babies, take temperatures , pass instruments, change dress- ings, and the innumerable other things of a nurse' s day.
With these hands, our hands, we will proudly serve in the calling we have chosen.
Our Hospital
This is the house of an intangible spirit; one felt by us who serve here, and one felt by those who come to regain health. All who enter and leave its portals take something with them and leave something here. We take a memory of happiness and sadness, laughter and tears, and we leave a part of our hearts for we shall ever remember our training days here at our hospital.

F or each of us this dedication has
a different meaning, but for all of us it is an expression of our deepest thanks for making it possible for us to take our pla ce in the ranks of young

HONOR
We find it impossible to picture every mem- ber on our "We Honor" page; so we honor the en- tire staff who have given so generously of their time and energy to teach us what it means and how to be a nurse. Each has done more than his or her share to pattern for us the honesty, in- tegrity, dignity and devotion necessary for the profession we have chosen.

"It takes a heap of living to make a house a home", and here we've found what the poet meant. We've shared our experiences, our happiness, our sadness and felt we had a hundred sisters and an extra mumsey and mom. We leave with sorrow and yet with joy for having a memory of the time we spent here.

These are the most athletic girls in our school. Besides the long hours at work and the many hours in classes , these girls still find the time and energy for sports .
Here is excellent material , and put to use accordingly. . . .How- ever, more practice is essential, plus more equipment and girls. The wins may have been few, but we feel that "the nurses" (they call us) have gained this — good sportsmanship, honesty, and ability. Each girl displayed these qualities .
Much appreciation we owe to Mrs. Phipps, our coach, and to Shirley Grasham, our manager. They made it possible for us to play- -when and where . The team, as a whole, is very gracious and devoted to the two.
Again this year Wanda Hall was elected captain, and Pat Feathers co - captain. Both are capable leaders. The new ones in the limelight are Nancy Dutton and Carolyn Galliher, excellent defensive material.

At last we present you with the 1956 annual. Do you like it? Ihope you do because it belongs to you. Had it not been for you, students, selling the advertisements in your never tiring efforts, and you. Doctors, for your assisting and en- couraging us , and you , the Women's Auxiliary, for your gen- erous assistance, and you, the hospital staff, for accepting
and sponsoring us this book would never have been possible.
May I be the first to say "Thank You" and present you with the 1956 White Cap.
